The average number of United States citizens that are black or African American per state is 3.03%. In the country, a large percentage of the black population is located in the Southeast region of the country with the highest percentage actually coming from Washington D.C. at 50.3%. Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Louisiana all also have high populations of black citizens.
